Excellent vintage Pioneer SG-9500 equalizer that has been rebuilt to ensure proper functioning for the foreseeable future and improved sound quality. All electrolytics were replaced since they're way past their recommended lifespan and all commonly problematic transistors were replaced with low noise modern equivalents. On the equalizer boards all capacitors over 10uf were replaced with audio grade Panasonic FC capacitors and all under 10uf were replaced with WIMA film capacitors, which are lower current leaking than electrolytics which in turn amounts to less disruption in the signal path. Film caps will also last much longer than electrolytics. Two 2SC1312 and one 2SA725 were replaced on each board with two Onsemi KSC1845 and one Fairchild KSA992. The 2SC1312 and 2SA725 always seem to go bad and become noisy so are always replaced in any Pioneer, Sansui etc unit I work on. On the power supply board all electrolytic capacitors were replaced with higher temperature rated Nichicon or Panasonic capacitors. The unit was taken apart and cleaned thoroughly as you wouldn't believe how much dirt and dust can accumulate inside because of the vent openings in the case. The front slide controls were also cleaned with Deoxit F5 Fader.The unit cosmetically is in great shape, especially the faceplate which has minimum flaws and great shine. There is some wear to the black case but nothing too bad.

Great EQ, only problem is that it's been sitting around too long. Purchased it for a backup. However my back is out, so I stopped a long time ago. Also the perfect eq for a musicians home stereo. Lost boxes and manuals a long time ago, sure the manual can be downloaded or ordered from the company....
